3200 MHz RAM is what is generally suggested in the forums. It is the sweet spot for price?
It's the point before the gets batshit crazy, although the slower stuff still tends to be cheaper.

2666MHz is the offical rated memory controller speed on intel Z390 series chips.
3200MHz is the prefered opperating clock speed for the Zen chips, but then it's a different type of memory system in there.
Wow. I was so wrong about this.
So try to get the 3200 so I have overhead but run it at 2666 at first for stability. Does this make sense?
or just get the 2666 and save the money. I have $250 or $300 allotted for RAM but nothing wrong with saving money. What to do. RAM is my final purchase and unfortunately other matters have popped up that demand my attention so have less time to select the RAM. Such is life!
23" 10-touch Monitor and iPad Air as Midi Controllers, iConnectMIDI2+, Windows 10-64bit, Xeon W36900, 12 GB RAM.

No, it makes no sense. Just get the 2666! It's cheaper, is in spec, and you seriously will hardly notice a difference between 2666 and 3200 in your DAW/plugins.

The preferred RAM clock speed for ZEN is as fast as it can be with the lowest timings, not 3200Mhz.

Ok got the message loud and clear to get the DDR4-2666 32GB in two sticks!
Having a hard time finding it in the approved RAM list for under $300.
So I searched out side the list and found this.

CPU i9-9900k
Gigabyte - Z390 AORUS MASTER ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard ... -rev-10#kf

Found this RAM but it is not on the approved list.
Everyone seems to like G.SKILL Ripjaws
What is your opinion on the F4-2666C15D-32GVR?
I am open for suggestions.

This is only $20 cheaper than the other(faster/tested) I mentioned.

You are buying a TOP motherboard/CPU, why economize $20 with the RAM?
