What are your favorite effects for slow ambient music? (Cheap or free preferred)
Mine:
PaulStretch, Ambient Reverb, Valhalla Freq Echo - free
Frostbite, Polaris - cheap (each purchased for under $10 during sales, I don't remember: maybe Polaris was in the $10-15 range)

For free:

Orilriver and Sanford’s reverbs are both great. I probably use them more than my commercial ones.

Musical Entropys Spaceship Delay is one of my favourite delays, sounds great and has so many options. Actually his Guitar Gadgets is pretty essential too, great collection of off the wall effects (not just for guitars sounds).

Paid: I think Valhalla’s Ubermod is on everything I do, particularly the tape verb preset.

I'm still only tweaking around with presets. I imagine that someone with a modular mindset, such as yourself, would get on really well with it

Its good for Ambient.

I have been getting some use from it and Steves cool Dream Verb preset.

Cableguys Halftime. It's $12 and absolutely essential. Put it after A1 Trigger Gate which is free by Alex Hamilton and put Zynaptiqs free Subspace after on the Z setting and ... drift.

that's a really good (and rare) call! Very underestimaded ambient generator.
