I'd suggest anyone who has an instrument plugin they can't do without is either unreasonably fastidious or not very good at programming synths. Obviously there are synths I'd prefer not to be without but nothing I couldn't replace with something else if I really, really had to.

Aah Bones

Still here, to the point as ever (which I generally agree with). I'm looking at a bit of a comeback now Reason and VST are pals.

MHORSE P3 mkII (parallel mastering processor by Terry West). I use it on ready exported masterwavs, when everything is ready mixed and need the last dash of punch n shine.

Rocket! Seriously, it does a great job at what we use Wasp for. Scary good, in fact. Sure, it's not a plugin but I can plug it in easily enough.

Curious as to what you use this for? I'm guessing you almost have to be a guitar player because guitars and drums are the only 2 things I can find a steady spot for the regular free waveshaper let alone a MB version.

melda multiband waveshaper : https://www.meldaproduction.com/MWaveShaperMB
i produce dubstep/dnb/hardtekno, i mainly use it as saturator, compressor, distortion on bass synth. (sometime on a kick or a snare.)

today the trend is on OTT but you can get extrem upward compression with waveshaping, you can also get gentle saturation or crazy harmonics exciter...

the standard settings for multiband is heavy compression on bass, saturation on mid and harmonics exciter on high.
I wouldn't exactly call it upward compression though, no? I mean it is one of those plugins, but, technically I would say that it has more of a band limited saturator followed by a downward exciter. Not really trying to argue here though. I agree, it is essential for the harder styles.

Alchemy for PC, I don’t always use it and I didn’t appreciate how much I liked it at the time as I do now, and when and if it breaks I will be f***ing upset.

I often try and fish the net to see if there are stray patches and stuff but mostly I keep an eye on the folder it resides in, paying a visits every now and again in worship.🌈

What exactly was the point of these threads again?

Oh, right, "influencers" and stuff.
