Some samplers do support independent sample sources and this does allow you to loop the left/right channels independently by simply panning those samples.

The problem with that is it doesn't have anything to do with reproducing a stereo field like a real stereo recording does. While it makes plenty of sense for synth pads or similar it isn't likely to work very well for a choir sampled in a cathedral or similar.

The best sample looping tool was made by Redmatica. Their KeyMapPro had an unrivalled set of tools where it comes to sample looping. Simply unique.

It was especially effective at stereo pads. Its ‘penrose’ loop algorithm made such difficult to loop samples almost too easy to loop.

It’s a real shame that Apple has not released this tool after acquiring Redmatica. It was the best sample editing tool bar none. Totally unique.

Not much help, but still. If you can source KeyMapPro by buying it second hand, then do it without hesitation. Just a word of warning: it only runs on Mac up to El Capitan.
