My take on of the Slice (Indaba Music) Remix contest for the Lo Lo "Yours" song.
Europa, Predator, Thor, Subtractor... Some effects like Echobode + lots of Reason stocks.

I didn't use nothing else from the stems but the vocals. Enjoy!

I like the choppy flanger vocal movement in 0:57 man

There's no vocals in 0:57 but ok.

The mix needs some work I reckon.
I'm guessing you've added loads of compression and/or limiting, chaining etc?
The vocals and pads fill up all the space and the drums are just drowning in the background :(
I reckon you should start with all the master fx's off and listen to the original (or a decent drum and bass tune, I've literally just listened to 'Sharks' by Shimon, try that) alongside your version to get a better reference point.

I removed the compressions. It's pretty raw , but clean now.

imo it sounds better, the drums still need a little boost and the bass is a little high. You should experiment with light compression just to mesh things together, if you think it's 'raw' sounding :tu:
