Hi,

Just curious about something.
My iLok, sometimes, disconnects all by itself. It has happened also while working on a project.

The other issue I have is, my soundcard.
Kinda like the same thing really.

I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (2nd gen). I need to unplug the USB and reconnect, 'cause audio won't play anymore from time to time.

I use Windows 10 64bit.

It just seems a bit strange you know.
I don't mind it too much to be honest, it's an easy fix.

I would like to mention that both of them are connected via a USB 3.0 hub. I use a laptop for music production.

You should connect the audio interface directly. A hub can cause all kinds of issues, especially if it is not powered.

Ok,

I think I have one remaining USB 3.0 slot on my laptop, I'll try that.

Is the hub powered? Anything else you have on the hub?

Yes, it's a powered hub.

I have some HDs, and a webcam.

„Some“ HDs calls for trouble, even on a powered hub.

Interface direct to the laptop, everything else should be fine off the hub (I would hope). The Interface will also behave better on a USB 2 port if you have any.

Other than that, it sounds like your laptop is killing the USB connection when it power saves and it isn't coming back... not entirely uncommon.

Would I be right in assuming you've not come across this before? https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/ ... Windows-10

They've got a section there on USB tweaking that will probably solve this for you.
