Haven't saw any discussion on this surprising new release from Hornet. As a big fan of Hornet plugins for mixing it's very interesting to see him release a sequencer it's also very timely considering the recent interest in Euclidian sequencers theres an definite scarcity of them on the market.
Was wondering if anybody has tried it yet because there is no demo availible because he doesn't believe in copyright protection and didn't want to cripple the product.

Looks interesting and i am trying to try it out but does not work in Reaper yet. Have emailed Saverio and expect a fix soon. He is a responsive developer. Would like to see a bit more functionality for individual beats, such as mute, pitch and velocity
No demo but 15 day return policy so not an issue for me

It crashes Reaper when tweaking the velocity or length parameter here. Can't use more then one sequencer. It lacks a global randomize function.
Why VSTfx instead of VSTi?

R u asking me why i posted it in effects instead of instruments? I consider a sequencer a midi effect since it doesn't generate the sound

I have little worry that'll he'll release an update quickly. I also got a feeling he'll continue to add functionality like he got some super creative "auto" algos for his mixing plugs so itd be cool to see them somehow incorporated into midi

No, didn’t direct it at you.
I have several VSTi sequencers from hy-plugins, they work just fine in my hosts. So, I wonder why this plugin needs to be a VSTfx.

I may be missing it, but it doesn't look like this has midi drag-and-drop or keyswitched pattern switching. If it doesn't, that seems to me to greatly limit its usability; you can only have basically one 32-step drum pattern, for example, through your entire track (unless you use multiple instances and deactivate the ones you're not using at any particular moment).

I suppose one could also wire the midi to record, but in Logic, that's a bit of a pain, and while I have the splendid (if apparently discontinued) Midi Freeze by Audio CR, I feel like this should be something built-in to Hornet's plugin itself.

I'm definitely intrigued, and the price is right, but if I'm correct about these omissions, I'm feeling a bit ambivalent about a purchase.

i'm not sure of the description. it looks like it's a pattern generator and not an actual step sequencer (i.e. where you can switch individual steps on or off)? no MIDI control? no MIDI out? no ratcheting? no accents?

23 hours after purchase

I'm writing to let you know that we have just updated HATEFISh RhyGenerator, the euclidean step sequencer, to version 1.0.1
This update includes:

Fixed stability and usability issues in windows
Improved transition between parameters in sequencer

There is a midi CC out mode and parameter modulation ability per sequence (still to investigate extent)

It only takes in and produces midi - hence the wonder why it's an effect (VST not VSTi)
