I have just bought an sp compressor it sounds pretty awesome just evens things out. Specially when strumming chords on clean vox ac 15 the dynamics can be pretty wide without a good compressor recommend it. Guy im new on this and selling ableton 10 suite. Anyone know how to post something for sale?

Wouldn't mind a spoke wheel truss rod nut. About 17.5mm not 13.5mm shaft depth needed, I've searched.

I have a Mesa Mk V 90 combo, an F30 combo and a TA15 head. I sold a TA30 head some time ago.
I was fortunate enough to luck onto a Fender Machete combo with an extension cab just before Easter. That thing is just Magical!
Other amps are Orange Rocker 32 with two 2x12 orange cabs (open back), Yamaha THR100H Dual, Achillies Argos 50W head (hand wired Plexi base with master volumes/multiple true bypass switching options/mods and matching 2x12 cab)
Two Line 6 DT50 2x12 combos and one DT50 1x12 combo plus a Helix floor which I don't like much.
and a positive grid 600 watt head that I'm also fairly sure I don't like much.
I sold an Axe FX three a couple of weeks after buying one...

The F30 is great! Those smaller Mesa’s are underrated for clean tones. I had a dual EL84 model and the original owner ended up searching for me 10 years later to buy it back. He missed it that much.

Beg, borrow or steal an (out of production) TA15 and just fall in love with the simplicity and the complexity of it, over a weekend.
The head only Trans Atlantic 15 is my desert island amp. Power settings of five, fifteen and 25 watts and tickling that most magical tone stack will have sounds falling out of it that you won't want to be without.

The F30 has a great clean channel but the dirt side gets too dirty, too quickly.

Yeah, I bet. I didn’t like the TA30 combo but I always suspected it was the cabinet that was the issue. Way too small for the speakers.

I sold the TA30 head due to the inbuilt fan. I haven't heard the TA30 combo, I was running mine into a combination of 2x12 cabs. An open back Orange that was sitting on top of a DT50. I tend to use the Line 6 combos as cabs when I haven't got the Helix running into them.
For the most part I play relatively quietly otherwise my tinnitus arcs up. The TA30 fan ran pretty much all of the time and was quite annoying.
The Mesa Mk V fan is inaudible when running.
I'm inclined to run a stereo rig and occasionally, wet/dry/wet through the equivalent of four 2x12's (wet) and the MK V + F30 combos for dry.
I've yet to sort out where the Fender Machete (high gain combo) is going to live. It's a much sweeter driven/distorted sound than the rather brutal Mk V. Proper lovely!

I'll try swapping out the power tubes in the Mk V for some EL34s and try some 12AT7s in the pre-amp section for a different gain flavour.

Not looking at getting any guitar gear right now, but I'm on a few mailing lists including Eastwood Guitars.
Most of their models are a bit too 'Jetsons' for my tastes, but I do like the look of this semi-acoustic

Kind of want to get one of these Henriksen amps. They come well recommended by a good friend.

After years of drooling I finally bought a 2003 Epiphone Casino Elite (the line made in Japan). Not sure how it compares to the newer MIA Epiphone Casinos but it's quickly becoming my go-to guitar.

Post

The Japanese Epiphones are sweet. Gibson tone but with faster necks. Personally, I like thicker necks so I sold my Elitist and got an LPS80.

I was recently back home in Liverpool and played a bunch of things which set the lust off. Pick of the bunch were a couple of Eastmans (Eastmen?). The LP-alike with Antiquities was fantastic but outdone by the DC Jr. The other was a 90s PRS CE. I remember liking these years ago but I'd kind of forgotten about them. Definitely on the lookout for these (just need to shift some stuff to make room first).

Post

Those early CE’s are trouble. One drop and the wood around the neck pocket will crack, giving you the deadest tone you’ve ever heard. Recommend steering clear.

btw, Strats generally don’t have this problem and I imagine it’s been worked out in modern PRS’s.

Post

Yes, heard that about the older CEs. I've never dropped a guitar but it'd be Sod's law for me to drop one of them :)
