Needs more kick ;)

Just kidding. Nice piece, though pretty simpel and regular.

I liked the chord progression, Vangelis-like brass and overall sound design and production; the one thing that seemed a bit jarring was the gated synth that comes in around 2:00... I'd either put it more in the back of the mix, or replace it with something less rhythmically insistent/quantized-sounding, and more organic/less structured to preserve the slowly shifting feel of the rest. But that's just me and my two cents ;)

I like it, but I agree with ccDuckett. My favorite part is the beginning. When the rhythmic part comes along, I find it a bit distracting from the rest. It might be nice if it were lower in volume. You might also try "blurring" it some with a bit of reverb. That might make it blend with the rest of the piece better.

However, if you wanted to have this piece start off as ambient and droning, and then transition into a rhythmic piece of music, the level of your current rhythmic component might be just fine. You would probably need to add in other rhythmic elements to support this element, and probably drop (or fade out) some of the existing ambient components during the transition. The intro of the U2 song "Where The Streets Have No Name" is an example of a roughly similar transition.

Listened to it a couple of times.. Very nice indeed. Lovely sounds. Mixing is great. Definitely an 80's Sci-fi feel to this. The moving arp complements it very well. Drifting through space......

Could I ask what synths were used?
