I would do this inside Windows. Best, set everything to default in the Bios.

Then follow this two steps, at least try it.

Set both the minimum and maximum processor state at the same time to either 99% for non Turbo and 100% for full Turbo mode.

I'm not very computer advanced, all that looks very confusing to me, I don't even where to start there.
gigabytr z390 gaming x and i7-8700k are very popular I thought there would be already common settings available for these just to change settings in bios and go

The "common settings" are in the first link...
The main enemy of overclock is temperature, overclockers uses BIG coolers
like Noctua NH-D15 and water, if you got a good enough cooler, read the first
link and try a conservative OC like 4.7GHz.

oh i didnt realize thres more pages to that link oops.
I see it recommend to turn-on turbo boost but in articles for optimizing windows for audio its always recommended to disable turbo boost.

I dont know what to do now. are there overclocking instructions specifically for audio PCs out there?

Disable C-States, disable Turbo Boost, set all cores to 4.8GHz(100x48)

Return to “Computer Setup and System Configuration”
