Ableton Live

Addictive Drums each hit having individual settings from which I've routed out
Kick
Snare
Hihat
Overhead

The drum sum has British Class A and Satin to smooth things over
Kick - Pro-C 2
And all have "Wasted Space" which is kinda low on CPU to widen each one separelly

Bass:
Phoscyon.
Enhanced by EdenWT800 and a Pro-C2 just there to sidechain when the kick hits

Then a coulpe of sounds from KNIFONIUM, Oddity3, TAL J8
plus a lot of Piano sounds from Addictive Keys. sparingly

And 3 Augmented Strings patches.

On the Master Channel I have Pulsar Massive, Satin and True Iron

That's it
Make sure to set you buffer size at 128 samples - crucial for the best M1 performance in Ableton Live
This.

I never had any success with Ableton Live 11 without setting the buffer size to 128 with M1, I reported this to Ableton a few time, and they seem to be aware of that and said they will improve the 3rd party plugin CPU usage in the future update.

Didn't have this limitation in Live 10 and other earlier versions with Intel CPU, and this seem only affected Live. on other DAW such as BitWig and S1. I can go very low Audio Buffer with a lot of plugins CPU not struggling.

Yeah no way this can cripple your M1 CPU.

KNIFONIUM and J-8 can hit your CPU hard depending on the patch.
The rest don't even use much CPU at all. can definitely have 50 instances + of the rest with M1 before CPU hitting like 50% usage.

I think most likely the culprit is Ableton Live and Audio buffer setting, try cadiz suggest, 44.1kHz with 128 samples audio buffer.

I usually have the buffer set at 64 because of the feel of the drumpads... :) It's instant... if you're a "finger drummer" you'll know it.... whatever.
Setting it to 128 cripples the "instataniousness" of the drumpads in favor of the DAW being able to process sounds.

Done it. Thanks for the help folks

I also have the feeling that recreating the same track in Logic would lead to a lot less CPU usage.......
But... I really love Push. I don't know

Still no M1/Monterey update for these eh? Too bad. Uhbik was going to be my fall creative FX purchase—I really need some surround-friendly effects!

Edit: Not a complaint! Just a wistful desire to be able to use these great plugins on my M1 laptop. I'm excited to use them once they're available.

Well I decided to download them anyway and have a go, and despite all the bug reports they seem to be working OK for me in Bitwig.

One request: more flexibility with the input/output routing. The presets make some assumptions about channel order that doesn't work so well in Bitwig. For example, the sidechain input isn't available for routing quad signals into Uhbik, and outputs beyond the first pair just route a dry copy of the input regardless of the routing settings. I've gotten it to work using the Element plugin wrapper but that's less than ideal.

I'm having fun playing around with these! I don't know if I'm willing to take the risk and buy the plugins knowing a non-alpha version is still many months away though.

Super stoked to finally grab this version after seeing the post about the broken download link being fixed. THANK YOU!
Love the look and feel here on 12.5 OSX Bigwig (so far) things are running well aside from the caveats outlined at top of thread. That said, I still haven't opened more than half of them, yet. Curiosity is peaked especially about C and D… in as far as how these are different than existing products. Now that I have Presswerk (much like Satin) I use it on *so many tracks* literally everywhere(!) LOL In fact, I actually stuck Presswerks Limiter at the end of the chain to prevent A, C and D Uhbiks from blowing out the meters.
FWIW, In the Uhbik-C DOX draft, I'd welcome more explanation for the generally expected use for two serial compressors eg a vocal chain? or drum bus? I'm guessing like many of the U-He customers I am buying pretty much everything in the product line. With that in mind, it would be nice to be assured how and why these products differ, how uniquely useful and essential they are and how they can be put to best use together.

As far as speculation of adding different things… since so many people are begging for it in Bigwig I have wondered if U-He could break out MSEGs into a separate plugin? Just throwing that out there though 'cuz unless I'm missing something, I think that an independent MSEG plugin would likely look and behave much like Cableguys Timeshaper so maybe not such a huge appeal for it now?… perhaps there's a better way to wrap that functionality into Runciter or a future Filterscape update ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've been playing a bit with the Alpha. Terrific job!

You now really have to make a Uhbik rack. The world needs it! :)

Having some holiday fun, loaded a virtual amp, followed by Uhbik D and Z-Reverb

...but...

I got IK's MixBox and T-Racks 5 MAX in a bundle, and must say, I love the gui and placement of effects in MixBox. As I do Guitar Rig 6. As I do with linux Rakarrack.
As I do with BlueCat Axiom, which even allows hosting 3rd party 64bit effects.

As with the previous poster, Id love a new product, an empty virtual vertical rack, to host all the various U-he effects, as they come to arrive in ones :hyper: anxious :hyper: hands.

Repleat with Bazille-style patch cables so multiple sends/receives would be easy.

This might also encourage new products such as effects existing already in one or more U-he products, being pried loose and sold individually for the rack, or for general use in the wilds.

(I probably posted similar views earlier in some Uhbik thread, but 'the times, they are a changin' and I hope the coding would be easier than making a U-he mini-daw :scared:
Somewhere in the $50-$60 price range, for the bare rack?

When will uhbik v2 be released? Are there any plans on a release date yet?
If I purchase Uhbik v1 now do I get v2 free or, most likely, at a reduced price? Can't seem to find any info on this.
Thanks

v2 will be free for you

No idea about a release date, other than probably before Zebra 3

We are currently working on a Filterscape update.
Next in line will be Uhbik. But no ETA, we simply don't know this yet.

If you intend to purchase Uhbik 1, please try the demo first, to see if it runs on your system.
As it hasn't been updated in a while, it might not be compatible to some of the latest operating systems and DAWs.

Ok, thanks for the info. I have tried Uhbik on my system (MuLab x64 on Win10 22H2) seems ok. But, should I wait until v2 is released before purchasing? I've been wanting to buy these for some time now, as they are so good! Now I can, it seems best not to?

If you tried them, and they work, there's no reason not to get them.
Just make sure you're using the VST2 version, don't use the VST3.

The compatibility issues are mainly on the Mac side, as Apple frequently breaks features when releasing new macOS updates.
