this sounds like the most trivial of all questions:
how can i reliably connect nano key2 keyboard to bitwig?

when I connect the midi keyboard, it shows up in the preference, and when i select it (or: all ins) in the track i would like to use, there is no sound coming from it. it is all connected, but it seems there is something blocking the connection or something. I am using cadence and i am not sure if i have to run some additional midi stuff (or kill some additional midi stuff? ) to have it work properly.. do i have to select a midi driver in cadence? like alsa raw midi or alsa sequence? should i disconnect the alsa midi bridge,.? any advice is appreciated!!

Hi, try this command to set up virtual midi ports,

sudo modprobe snd-virmidi

New ports should appear in cadence or qjackctl or patchage midi areas etc

then command

a2jmidid -j default

look in the alsa-midi patchbay for a new port. Try connecting your
gear using those. More info at

Good luck!
