I wonder if this really makes sense... What will you do when you have more than 1 TB of MIDI files, how will you select a melody from 68 billion melodies that you will like?

yea, so unfortunate , the idea behind the whole project.. i.e., lawyers.. But, I thought this was relevant here because, well, yea, we want melodies.. now, the problem is, wtf? How does this really impact music?

my thoughts, screw it, let music happen.. work it out later, AFTER everyone likes it..

but, we have situations like this that come to be.. yes, technically, based on US law, they have a case.. now, how that would apply to other countries, have no clue..

Sorry, I completely missed the point. I haven't paid attention to the legal consequences, because that is what this project is about. I believe all musicians should be able to create melodies without having to fear of lawyers of other big players.
