Hey, I'm just starting out trying to write in dance genres... Out of curiosity, how did you go about the bass region in this track? And which sound(s) did you use ANA2 for btw?

Below 300 Hz is a kick (Kick2), a sub (Sylenth1), and a tom (sample). The sub is sidechained to the kick. The levels at the low end are a challenge unless you use a reference track. When you're at the point of mixing, low pass your track and the reference then set your levels accordingly. ANA2 was used for the lead that sits about 2000-5000Hz. It was my first time using it and I really like the fact it can hold a sample. I automated between the sample volume and the wavetables which added some nice movement to the lead.

Thanks for the insights, I'll keep these in mind -- especially the reference track bit.

There are some things to like about this track.
But the panning did mess with my head a little bit!
