Simple question. I know a concert pianist and an EDM producer have completely different needs. I'm not asking what's best or for whom.

I'm asking you: Do you LOVE your MIDI controller? If so, what is it?

I do. I have a ReMote SL & Push2 ... plus a Pocket Controller that I use for DJing sometimes.

Small knobs, I'd like to play with something bigger. Like large, round jogs.

I like my controller - not enough keys, but it’s the right depth. Keystep.

I have an MPK 61 and MPK Mini Mk II. They are alright. I mean I'm crap at playing the keys anyway so it doesn't matter. I'm slightly more crap when playing the Mini, but I just wanted a compact controller to keep close to the computer mouse/keyboard so it fits the bill. Some controllers have fancy integration etc. but I don't really need that. They let me re-program the knobs, sliders and pads to send different CC's/Notes, and store multiple presets, which is nice since I can use them to control VST's, synths or the DAW etc.

Nectar impact LX88+ (primary) and Edirol PCR800 (over midi to a scarlett 18i8) - it's a nice team.

The impact has 88 keys and I like the key action, it's probably no good for real pianists but works for me. PCR800 has (channel) aftertouch and Rolands modulation stick thingie that works nice for some stuff when playing.

The impact works reasonably well in Cubase and Reason with nectars standard DAW-integration. Also - plenty of synths work with factorymapping. If there's no mapping in place already for a particular plugin it's really easy to create and save your own.

On the edirol I have a few specific maps I set up myself, but I almost only use it for playing when I want "the stick" or aftertouch...

Now seriously. I don't have a MIDI controller, but I use my black analog D for all my EDM needs.
Recently I started looking at Arturia Keylab MK2, which also comes in black(or white), and it has that famous big knob that I love. So yea, if I had Keylab I would definitely love it.

Korg Kronos 88 (which obviously offers a lot more than just MIDI control) and NI Komplete Kontrol 49 mk2. They compliment each other perfectly for me :-)

The best one IMHO ...
sadly she has a broken key :o
one has lifted from the keybed, so is raised by about half inch at the front.
i cant play keys too well anyway, so not a huge issue, and considering the age and how much it was carried about for rehearsals and gigs(knobs not keys), im not complaining.
