I posted here because I like it in an unplanned spontaneous way

This is probably of the folky psychedelic type, I just hit record and did everything first takes, no plan..... it started as a test for the Blue Cat Re:Guitar, and the Psychedelic Tunnel VST. Also uses Deputy Mark II and Cromaphone (very minimally )!

Anyway hope you enjoy, feedback welcome and keep well

EDIT; Changed to the latest mix 18/06/20

Nice Durutti Column / Spiritualized vibe. There's a persistent resonance (an A, I think) which is a bit uncomfortable to listen to. Resonance from the guitar? The acoustic guitar sound is a bit thin for my liking. Maybe experiment with mic placing for the guitar?

Thanks skipscada, yes , good points. It's actually an electric put through the Blue Cat Re:Guitar plug-in to sound (sort of) acoustic, I see what you mean about the boominess on the lower string - maybe I can save that with EQ but it might because I'm playing some open chords partly.
Yes I struggle to get a full sound with any acoustic or semi-acoustic setting...
Anyway thanks for listening and the feedback.
Oh yes, and definitely a fan of Vinni Reiley's Duritti Column.

Very interesting sound. It reminded me of some of Syd Barrett's solo work in places. :tu:

That's good to hear, thank you. Lots to learn about mixing and getting full sounds with acoustic stuff. Yes syd barrett is a large inspiration !

Did a remix (same link at top) -got rid of the boominess on the acoustic, and also cut that frequency drone which was coming from a gated resonating effect. Sounds a bit more airy and 'present' now I think

It sounded more phych when I started to play with my nc plugs :D
Still too much high res/rev. Nothing wrong with the track itself IMO.

What are Nc plugs ? ( are they like drugs haha)
You think too much high end in mix ?
EDIT; did another mix with less reverb.

I'm hearing an early-mid '70s Led Zeppelin vibe. The kind of thing they used to play in their quieter and more relaxed moments. I quite enjoyed the acoustic guitar sound on here. It would probably work even better as a rhythm guitar accompaniment for for an electric (Prog-rock) track.

Good work :)

i like the spontaneity , and as a one shot it's quite listenable ...
the composition and playing are enjoyable ...

the mix needs some work ...
the acoustic is taking too much bandwidth , and is mixed a bit too loud ...
proper Eq and staging would really make this shine ...

looking forward to more from you ...

Noise cancelling plugs. I also do have a heater. When it turns on it sounds like a vacuum cleaner. So I check my mixes/masters with my reference tracks.

That's very pretty, especially as an early-morning-listen while getting my head into home office mode. Due to the impromptu nature of the track, there are some timing issues, but that's okay. A little too much reverb for my taste, I think "forest clearing" would be a better acoustic for the track than "Grand Canyon".
