It installs fine, but doesn't launch at all. I'm on Win 10.

Yes, works for me.
In most cases the problem is the install location, because by default this goes to somewhere under 'C:\Program Files (x86)', where energyXT is not allowed to write to its own settings file.
Try to copy the whole energyXT installation folder to some folder where energyXT has write access.
Also in that folder then rename 'energyXT.ini' to e.g. '-energyXT.ini'.
