heres a short one hot off the DAW.
EDIT: new mix as of 3/23: reduced rev and delay levels,
more dynamic, quieter overall level.
if the guitar still seems too reverbed, thats
because thats how it was sampled off the VFX, incl
its own effects.

bass/percussive arp - Tal Mod
choir stabs - KLC M1
swell pad - FB Fury-800
beeps - Tritium
synguitar - sampled Ensoniq VFX
Glide lead - Mysteron
drums - Linplug RMiV
yells - your mom

enjoy!

hi layzer,
good quality retro sounding content. worth listening!

following some further "thoughts" which came to my mind:
what i really like:
- short, crisp structure
- attention to details (like the litte beat transistions at 0:31)
- catchy melodies

things that in my opinion could be optimized:
- does it need so much reverb?
- and: my mum can produce a whole range of tones... you probably did something wrong :smack:

hi TT, thanks for giving her a spin.
well, yeah i am an old verb addict, still recovering and
Frantz is usually my support system when i seem to
be backsliding! :help:
i think what you hear is the delay effect which i overdid
on the M1 choirs, syn-guitar and glide lead making their
tails too long.
this may well see a remix, as i think i also squeezed out a little
too much dynamics in a slightly louder mix than usual.
thanks so much for the feedback!

A rather trashy piece of music. The theremin sound on the left side is quite nice. Quotations from the analog era may not be missed.

Strange/unusual track but it put a smile in my face so thats a good thing.I like the fact that it is evolving i didnt get bored.Mixwise i am not good at giving advice but i think the kick could hit a bit harder or louder or even a different kick but thats a personal preference.Maybe also trying to fill the stereo field you over did it a bit with the panning or use of effects. At 1.43 there is a frequency problem when the drums hit if my ears dont fool me

if the trash fits, dig deeper trenches and take cover.
the theremin is filled free from the best executions.
my analog days fly far from the games when people listened

Reminds me a lot of racing game soundtracks from late 90s.

Really enjoyed the track musically, but wasn't a great fan of the mix...

It works and is definitely very listenable without a doubt, but for me it still lacked a certain bit of clarity and balance...

Clarity:
Maybe too much crossover between parts in terms of frequency content?
Still too many effects doing too much at times?

Balance:
Frequencies seemed a little uneven at times...

Fizzy - lot of high / Mid content with lots of constant spikes in that general area?

Little harsh at times - the thereminn section seemed to have a sudden burst of very high frequency content?

Lacked some solidity - Subs well controlled and actual bass is definitely OK, but seemed to be slightly empty in the low / mids area.

I enjoyed it. It's got a very upbeat and happy vibe. I liked the melodies and the bass synth had a very pleasant quality.

Good work :)

An appealing retro composition with cool sound design. :tu:

I think it sounds great during the sparser sections. During the more busy sections, it is still enjoyable but gets a little cluttered. The drums are pretty noisy and each sound, while very cool in isolation, does not necessarily "play nice" with the other sounds.

I would leave this piece as is but going forward think about having a mix of a few special sounds and some background sounds which fit well in the mix.

cool little project, the synguitar was excellent. you always get good use out of the M1, I have the keyboard but would like the software for mobile work, have you ever tried loading sysex files into the software?
