can you record a quick video of selecting categories and presets in browser demonstrating how your omnisphere behaves ?
superquick video - I seem to have shitty settings on but you can see something in it :D

wow that is fast, it's just strange that omnisphere works fine for some people and for others, including me, it doesnt

I've mentioned this before on KVR: I've had issues where Omnisphere changes presets quickly, and then, something happens in a session (I'm Win10, Ableton 11, but this happened with Ableton 10, and I stopped using Omnisphere before I went to Live 11) - and then preset changing becomes very sluggish, taking like 5x the normal amount of time.

Restarting Ableton doesn't help. A reboot does. Something wonky is going on there, for sure, and doesn't occur with any other plugins.

Not looking for help, just adding a data point and (PITA) workaround that worked for me.

Recent versions of Omnisphere would crash in Ableton10 when changing patches for me also.
I haven't seen this in Cubase since I 'migrated'.

It's the last synth I would get rid of. If only one synth this would be it.

The video I posted is latest Omni on latest Live 10, though running on Win7(SP1)

also noticed today that if having only one instance of Omnisphere in Cubase it works ok, no matter how big the project or how heavy omnisphere patches are or amount of them.
But when loading another instance of Omnisphere than Omnipshere starts lagging.

Interesting - I couldn't really replicate this in C11 in Windows. It was maybe a tiny bit slower, but it didn't make a dramatic difference here adding a second instance.

I still think it's related to time after an update - a newly updated Omni flies for me, but the longer it gets between updates, the slower it seems to be.

Just on slow browsing / loading - I've just used Omnitag to refresh all my third party patches. As is fairly normal, Omnisphere takes a while on first launch afterwards to re-index everything, but then I noticed the responsiveness was MASSIVELY improved. This links in with my observation that after a Spectrasonics update, responsiveness improves and then slows again in time.

I'm still not sure if a general refresh even with no changes helps - maybe someone who is experiencing slow responsiveness can check. Just go to the patch browser and click the refresh button bottom right-ish, and see if it helps.

BBFG# and his hate for Omnisphere is hilarious. Calls anyone a fanboy, but is in every thread to talk trash

Can't recall ever saying I hated Omnisphere. On the contrary, I often refer to it as a fine instrument, a good tool and always subjective to individual use. I also avoid most of these threads since there's usually a hoard looming.
But thanks for another example of what one might avoid to get a better sense of it.

I sold all my 3rd party vsts minus Omnisphere. It’s so liberating like wearing no underwear under a pair of Soffees on a sunny spring afternoon.

oohh risky, Don't think I could just have one. I need inspiration and I get that from different options. :)

I can imagine the liberation hoxclab is feeling (assuming it was not a joke) and think of doing it myself, but not sure I can or should do it.
