Why doesn't Spectrasonics notify us via email ?

Plus I haven't used Stylus RMX for over a decade :hihi:

Yes, for some weird reason they don't send newsletters. I have received only 1 in the last 6 months of being their customer.

Time to fire it up again. :hihi:

In one hand I also thinking on buying an extension.
On the other hand it's not urgent, they will have the same price and the same discount system.
Maybe these 4 extension all will be part of the next Major Omni version, who knows.
So I wait a bit, and enjoy my current set of tools.

What is a pity that they don't do is offer discounts on the extensions also based on which extensions you have bought already, not just the ones you are buying at the time....

Exactly - you're right!

And this provides a cool little math problem:
how can you achieve the bigger discount:
-buying three then buying one
-buying two then buying two
?

A heads up that all the main products got an update in the past few days (just fixes).

I've seen the demo videos, and IMHO Nylon Sky is the only that adds some new to the "factory" content. However Omni already has guitar sounds, and maybe that's enough. Side note: GForce Alex Ball expansion for MTRON PRO has several guitar sounds for the fraction of the Nylon Sky price - of course that's just "silly Mellotron sample" ...

however, I have some orange tree guitars and I doubt nylon sky could sound better If I only want a decent guitar and don't want "creative ambient patches"...

I’ve still not found my perfect nylon guitar. I have the Orange Tree one and it plays very well and is functionally excellent, but I’m not crazy about the tone. The Nylon Sky one isn’t very comprehensive and the main patch has baked-in vibrato which means chords sound horrible, but the tone is great and it does have a simpler non-vibrato patch.

Finding good guitar solution is not simple. I also have Musiclab Realguitar, that has a smaller sized library, but have great articulations. So I can use midi output from Realguitar, to control my orange tree guitar and it's quite cool this way.
BUT these are not nylon guitars, so maybe I invest in Nylon SKY.
The spectrasonics discount system makes me think about choosing another extension,
but I don't really see what's the point in these custom interfaces.
In Kontakt such interface makes sense, but in Omnisphere it's kinda noonsense to me. Because Omni has quite cool GUI,
don't need this "preset specific GUI"...

I’d say about 50% of the value of these extensions is in the GUI.

I think one thing that gets consistently overlooked in the hundreds of Omnisphere threads is their appeal to musicians, as opposed to producers in general and especially the bedroom kind. They started flirting with simple controls with Trilian and then Keyscape. Then they did the hardware profiles to enable more tactile control for those with the right hardware.

The extensions are different from either, and are exceptionally well done. It feels at times almost like a new mini-synth for each preset, with every knob and button designed to do something useful with that particular sound, and controlling multiple parameters simultaneously under the hood. They are designed with performance in mind.

Have the CPU issues caused by some of the new effects been addressed yet?

I'm up to date but CPU on the effects seems unchanged here. No mention in the changelogs either.
