Sped and spiced it up a little for a remix: https://soundcloud.com/lwj/lwj-smashgrab-part-two
This is the better track, IMO.

Hi lwj, techno not really my thing but there’s some creative sounds going on which liven up the track but not sure if the track flows enough during the transitions making it difficult to dance to? Some of the sounds come in with a bit of a bang, which overwhelms the vibe, was that on purpose?
My reference for techno is Boris Brejcha but not sure if he’s his own sub-techno genre all by himself. Also, Christian Vance who does a great techno tutorial on sonic academy.
You certainly could develop this further and would be worth doing.

Cheers!
I call it techno in the broadest sense.. I’m not much a techno head myself, my regular style takes a lot of influence from it but is more ambient and uk bass type of stuff. Like this: https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/oBUWQjudLZ1MQZwn9
When I make more techno oriented stuff I do the sudden and odd transitions on purpose because I like the weird energy it gives. Makes it kinda punky and unpredictable to me. A lot of techno I hear today sounds way too polished and ‘well produced’, and sampled. This is just me going to town with a sampler and fm synth. I jam for a bit, then do one or two takes, some edits and presto.

Interesting, reminds me a bit of late nineties/early twothousands Wonky/Brighton Techno. Christian Vogel, Si Begg, Jamie Lidell, etc..lwj wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 7:25 pm Really quick techno jam I did today. Digitakt and Digitone vs Ableton.

P.S.: I listened to your other stuff on Soundcloud. Not directly my cup of tea, but the quality is impressing. Chapeau!

Some interesting and effective musical ideas in there, but it quickly becomes quite a tiring listen as for me it's a bit over compressed and / or limited...particularly in the lower frequencies?
