In the meantime, you can get a good amount of free presets by downloading AAS Swatches. How "bread & butter" they are is up to your own perception. (Also make an account and they usually send you a free library around Xmas time.

I agree, Xpand!2 is an excellent ROMpler for the price, especially if you're looking to make stuff with a '90s feel. Plus it comes with quite a selection of drum one-shots.
