Considering 4.0 and 4.1 - except for audio comping - were mostly focused on MIDI devices and operators, I'd suspect we'll see a bit more love for audio this time around.
If that's the case, I wouldn't mind:
- time-stretch in Sampler when slicing MIDI/audio to it
- user-definable threshold for onset detection
- audio quantization (with time-stretching)
- perhaps some new creative time stretching algos
- a more comprehensive granular mode for Sampler (with more control over the playhead)

Bitwig desperately needs ...
1. Arrange page improvements
Look and feel is clunky, and not crisp to use. Zoom capabilities limited. It's painful to use for arrangement.
2. Better MIDI editor
Desperately in need of editor refinements to make MIDI editing faster and more precise. Snap is weak, mouse tools not precise. Scale mode would be useful for many.

let's see synthesis can be
Subtractive ... check
FM Synthesis. ... check
Sample-Based Synthesis. ... check
Wavetable Synthesis. ... check
Phase Distortion ... check
AFAIK
Vector Synthesis. ... is missing
Additive Synthesis. ... is missing
Spectral Synthesis. ... is missing
Physical Modeling ... is missing
Vector is pretty cool

so (let's try the reverse psychology this time), otherwise if every release would contain one of the elements of https://bitwish.top/votes I would be perfectly happy

They will add optional custom images for each track. Then a custom backdrop for the GUI. Also some new effect for reversing the audio stream. And supporting a new controller nobody heard of before.

Whatever happened to MIDI comping? Is that in the works or what? One of the main missing features in Bitwig preventing me from renewing my subscription.

Really? That's what preventing you from making music? When we already have Selector containers?

Drum pad bounce in place to sampler, with choice of velocity levels.
Actually bounce of any instrument for that matter.
How do they not have this yet?
