IMPORTANT NOTE: Most everyone knows that these are not nearly as dynamic as real vocals, but those who are open minded enough know they may be used as instruments anyways, or even for demo tracks to be handed to real vocalists (my plan.) Any creative sees the untapped potential for use in wavetables, modulations, evened out content for granularizations, and the list goes on. I hope to experiment with stuff like morphoder, MMorph, Physion etc Some of you will think that these are “good enough” and since art is subjective, you are correct. Keep it nice, people. There is a market. There are uses. All or none of these are a certain artist’s/listener’s cup of tea.
Other than the validity of these programs existing, i hope to see some discussion and maybe some examples if anyone here uses them.
I WILL ADD PERTINENT LINKS HERE IN THE FIRST POST IF YOU ALL PROVIDE THEM... things like main site, where to buy, youtube videos, history etc.
CEVIO / CEVIO AI
https://cevio-jp.translate.goog/?_x_tr_ ... r_pto=wapp
Old free version download (post if you successfully install:)
https://web.archive.org/web/20141105053 ... 2.0%29.msi
So there seems to be a whole lot of current movement (within weeks) for CeVio (pronouced Che-Veo.)
Here is the English Translated Japanese site, which is very hard to follow... i could not figure out things like where or how to purchase... or register for the sister company with the latest FREE version (I wonder if you have to type your email and password with Japanese characters.) if anyone knows of a good English Language site i will add it.
Anyways things are moving along.
Some recent voice synth history from a CeVio perspective...

VOCALOID 5 / 4
https://www.vocaloid.com/
Some people like Vocaloid 4 over 5 because of interface. Vocaloid banks vefore V3 dont work natively in 5.
A (Japanese) history of pop vocaloid producers...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUPkCQJ0M3A
EMVOICE
https://emvoiceapp.com/
Probably the newest entry in vocal synths.
One of the latest videos about updates to emvoice...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhTI3WOm_4U
SYNTHESIZER V
https://dreamtonics.com/en/synthesizerv/
Not easy to integrate into DAW workflow... not even a metronome, so it may be difficult to time the singing. Tell me this has changed lately. I could be wrong by now as these things evolve. Update: Apparently Synthesizer V Studio Pro now does DAW integration through a VST link
I think this may showcase one of the latest voices for Synthesizer V...

Vocaloid 4 Miku is super fun to program. She sounds so innocent and fits into a wide variety of genres quite easily. Yes, she'll never be mistaken for a human, but for genres like UK Hardcore and Dubstep, she fits in perfectly.

One more freebie, although I don't know what the license allows you to do with it, and this one you'll need Melodyne to make use of: https://15.ai/

I have never heard of CeVio but the free version seems to be archived here: https://web.archive.org/web/20141105053 ... 3.2.0).msi
No idea if it needs anything else to run properly.

Utau must be mentioned, as it has a lot of content and users, but holy poop it's a pain to set up. I had to set my PC to japanese temporarily...
Also looks like Microsoft was trying to get into the market? https://vocapigeon.wordpress.com/2020/1 ... to-use-it/

Apparently Synthesizer V Studio Pro now does DAW integration through a VST link, although I only use it standalone. As for lack of metronome, I just add an instrument track with a rough mix of the song I'm working on, and build the voice against that.

The new open source OpenUtau beta is mentioned in the alternativeto.net list. OpenUtau is internationalized, no need to change locale. English interface demonstrated here:arkmabat wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 7:12 am I need to get to bed, but one more link since this is a fun topic:

As for the CeVIO line...
CeVIO AI is a paid product, standalone only. There are two versions of the editor, sold separately: Talk and Song. Talk voicebanks and Song voicebanks only work with the correct editor. Voices are sold individually and bundled in "Starter Packs", so check what you are buying. There is one English Song voicebank for CeVIO AI, "IA AI SONG ENGLISH -ARIA ON THE PLANETES-". Not to be confused with "IA ENGLISH C -ARIA ON THE PLANETES-", which is for the older CeVIO Creative Studio program.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KtjlrZUj30
IA product page: https://ia-aria.com/software/
Amazon IA physical bundle page: https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B09HTTS6ZP
CeVIO Pro (alpha) has DAW integration and one free female Japanese voice ("Chis-A", pronounced "Chee Say"). You cannot use CeVIO AI and Cevio Creative Studio voices with it. The editor itself is free to use with an account. However, access to other voices will be (*sigh*) subscription-based:
https://twitter.com/techno_speech/statu ... 1302323202
Signup page: https://cevio-pro.techno-speech.com/users/signup/
fwiw I like Chis-A's tone, it's refreshingly different from the glut of kittenish synthetic female vocals.
btw Chis-A's product description is "Japanese Language Song Voice Library", reflected in the URL
https://cevio-pro.techno-speech.com/art ... a_JP_song/
Seems like they wouldn't have to specify if the software was intended for domestic use/Japanese-language only
