I haven't seen them up for purchase, but I saw one site saying it'll be $399.99 for the RE-202 and $249.99 for the RE2
I'm likely out as an immediate purchase, but I am interested in the RE-202.

Love the RE-202 look. Expensive though. At least it's designed for studio too.

Yeah a bit pricey but comparatively cheaper than other options too… but that’s not saying much since with hardware it’s usually easy to find a more expensive option.

I got a real RE-501 back in the early 2000s for £375, so this is almost as expensive in my mind

I wonder what that ctl/exp pedal does.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

I'd guess it controls delay time or feedback. Feedback might be the more obvious use as delay time could be tapped on the pedal switch. I should look for a manual online.

could be for the warp function, emulates a finger on the tape or tape speeding up
i have the old dual pedal, one switch is on off, the other is tap tempo or if you hold, it does the warp

In this demo it sounds like the exp input can be mapped to a chosen parameter

I wonder how the 14 or so RE-2s leaked. They were physically on eBay a month ago. The auction was cancelled after the seller heard from Roland.
Between the 2, I'd definitely want the RE-202. But at $400 I'm wonder if I should just get a Volante, hell even a El Capistan.

That RE-202 looks great ... but it's likely gonna be around £400 here with VAT.

At :29 of the Pete Thorn video, it nails the Space Echo sound better than any pedal I've heard:macrosound wrote: ↑Sat Mar 26, 2022 11:36 pm Between the 2, I'd definitely want the RE-202. But at $400 I'm wonder if I should just get a Volante, hell even a El Capistan.

Nothing wrong with those two, but different beasts. The Volante is based on the Binson Echorec and El Capistan covers tape delay. The Re-201 is a classic sound. Basically you want it because you’re after ‘that’ sound and not just because it does tape delay, reverb and saturates.macrosound wrote: ↑Sat Mar 26, 2022 11:36 pm I wonder how the 14 or so RE-2s leaked.
