Request for EA Nimbus and R4 Users

Greetings,
I inquired of izotope’s plans for their Nimbus and R4 plugins and their future. They indicated they plan to update stratus and symphony, but not the Nimbus/R4. However, they said it could be updated if they received enough feedback requesting them.
If you have a few mins and you’re bored, please consider shooting a support request for future support for these plugins. Also, if you use R2 and phoenixverb I’d mention that, too.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but, as long as they work on Windows, I don't really care. They're even VST3, so.
To explain my point a little: What exactly is it that I wish for in these plugins? The original developer retired, and, I highly doubt that iZotope will enhance these plugins dramatically. The only thing I could really imagine would be a M1 native version, and I'm not a Mac user. So, yeah. Being ignorant here, basically.
To be honest, the fact that they often sold R4 and Nimbus for peanuts tells me that they don't seriously consider any further development anyway. Really not trying to be the party pooper, just stating how things look from my perspective.
I own R2 and PhoenixVerb, and, frankly, for both, I do have similar quality of better replacements. They're great sounding, but, they're definitely plugins I wouldn't have issues to go without.

Exact my opinion and experience too.
I throw in Excalibur by Exponential Audio. The only plugin that comes close to the beautiful sounds my hardware Lexicon PCM81 multi effects unit provides.

Over the last year or so I’ve sent more than a few emails and tweets about nimbus and Excalibur.

If a Brother is asking you for a little help and you decline it because of not being directly affected; you are not ignorant but just egoistical.chk071 wrote: Sat Aug 06, 2022 10:39 pm To explain my point a little: What exactly is it that I wish for in these plugins? Furthermore, you might be ignorant of directly affecting your future - self, sitting in front of a new Mac M3 and utterly regretting to never have asked for a Nimbus / R4 - Update.

And, I doubt that the "Brother" asked people who don't think an update is necessary to participate, but rather those who think it is.

I just wondered if that is even worth a reply. And I decided that it isn't.

Never. Trust me. I wouldn't want to be reliant on a company who decides tomorrow that "yesterday's" tech isn't worth supporting anymore, and make most of my software obsolete with a snip of the finger. Never ever.
No, that's my decision. And, it doesn't need any justification. Masterhiggins asked something, I gave my opinion why I'm OK with things are right now. But, I wish him all the best with his request. I just doubt that anything will happen. Considering that they basically gave those plugins away. Further software development has to be paid somehow.

I did too. I love Excalibur and have no idea how it doesn't get as much love as something like EchoBoy. Coincidentally also have a PCM81 and feel similarly.Etienne1973 wrote: Sun Aug 07, 2022 12:13 amExact my opinion and experience too.![]()

Well, I sent them a mail too now. Thinking about it, it would be a shame if the plugins maybe become unavailable at some point, or whatever. I have them backed up, of course, but, further development is always good.
I'm pretty sure they're like "WTF... what is this all about now?" though.
