I liked the minimal instrumentation here featuring a guitar, cello and vocal, although some of the notes coming from the cello seemed much higher than the video would appear to indicate.

Full disclosure: I grew up in the Beatles era, but was not a big fan of theirs, although I have their 1967-1970 album. My favourite rock/pop songwriting combo didn't really hit the limelight until after the mid '70s.

Good work :)
Thank you Seismic1! :)

Sure, not everyone can be a Beatles fan from the very beginning, and not everyone can tap into the magic of the Beatles for themselves. Because there are other, really great bands and musicians. Which of course leads me to ask: what is your band from the 70s (or even 80s?) that shaped you and socialized you musically? *curiously asking* :?: :?: :?:

I'm kind of a Beatles nerd, I also tried to be a collector, but being a collector was a bit too expensive and too stressing for me. I love many artists and many styles of music, but the Beatles are the center of my musical universe.

Yesterday is a gorgeous song. Not my favorite Beatles song and certainly not a typical Beatles song, but it is one of the best songs McCartney ever wrote.

Your cover is great. Very well done.
Thank you, Dogbert, for your personal Beatles bio and your rating!
I'm also glad that you like our cover. :D

Good point, Jamcat! :o

For a long time we thought about whether we should even publish
a cover version via Youtube or not. There were many points against
it - but also some for it.

So far we have only published self-composed and self-produced
songs on YouTube - and on our homepage. So "Yesterday" is the
first song we covered. And yes - we are very happy with it.

Of course, our lawyers have clarified beforehand what copyright
relationships exist - and what implications are associated with
such a cover. So don't worry - everything is ok.

But it's also like this: We can't make any money with this cover.
But hey: We hardly earn any significant money with our own songs.

If you are thinking of monetization, you should probably not make
music. At least that's our stance on it. So here it's really all about
the music and having fun with the music. And of course it's a
tribute to and worship of The Beatles.

Haha, I remember Andy Partridge saying that he preferred
to call the band "exploratory pop" in the same vein as the
Beatles or the Kinks.

That was in the 1970s, maybe here. In any case, he liked
the Beatles! :)

Here is a list of Andy's most influential records. The Beatles made it (apart from two albums).
