DaveGamble has awoken from his internet slumber to drop some bombshells about a few things he's been working on: 1) a DMG Audio called Warmth (multi-band saturator), 2) a DMG Audio plugin called TrackWarmth (single-band saturator), 3) new models for TrackComp (further down the road) and 4) he's been heavily engaged with working on Serum 2 for the last 2+ years in a component modeling capacity.
Thought that last one might warrant discussion. Sounds like it's not all that far off.

He literally just said on Gearslutz that he's not joking. I think he thought you were joking with that suggestion and responded in kind, but then he clarified, it's not a joke. I'm honestly not sure why you came to that conclusion when he announced a bunch of other things he's been working on.zvenx wrote: Mon Nov 07, 2022 3:59 pm Are you sure he is not joking about the last one?
I think he is. (I do know Steve is working on Serum 2, but with Dave?)

Duda has been dropping hints for a while now. He always made very clear that he is in no rush to release S2 and will only do so when he's 100% confident that it's the best update possible.
So it could be here in a couple of weeks or in two years or ten.

The shocker for me isn't that Serum 2 is in the works, but rather the excitement that Dave Gamble has been involved in the development for the last 22 months doing circuit-modelly stuff.jules99 wrote: Mon Nov 07, 2022 4:03 pm Duda has been dropping hints for a while now. This is huge. Serum also changed the game and the music industry, i wonder if serum 2 will have the same impact.

Good news... I'd really like to get my hands on S2 - So hurry up!

The interesting aspect to me is how much emphasis Steve laid on the cleanest possible oscillators/wavetables and now he‘s going to add all that dirt back in
..off to play with my music toys - library music production.

Not that surprised he hired or collab with DMG audio. I remember an interview with Steve Duda saying he hired a mathematician to code the dsp heavy parts for serum or cuz he wasn't that satistified with his stuff.
I'm definitely getting anything that comes out of that!

well, at least in my eyes, he has been one of the most "important" guys FOR the plugin business for a very long time now.
i'll always be super grateful for the development of GURU alone. (fingers crossed that a hypothetical Nerve 2 will go more into that direction)
my other biggest heroes in these regards would be Stephan Schmitt and Urs Heckmann.
regarding these news about Dave being involved in Serum 2, i have to admit that i'm actually super stoked now and might actually get it this time around
The GAS is always greener on the other side!
