The ability to save multiple presets per instance is neat.

Seconding this. Pretty lovely gate. Can chop up anything you throw at it pad, lead lines, sequences, breakbeats, you name it. The FXs give this an extra touch (you can go wild and then compensate with the mix knob so you can spice up a lead line for instance) and there are lots of tweaking options on how the gate responds.

Shaperbox or Infiltrator do the job very well. Or get the Kilohearts stuff and add Snapheap. As far as I know, you can then set modulators as LFOs or curves and trigger it via MIDI. Means, you can define your rhythm structure and then control volume or a filter with it…

Yeah, I pretty much always use the Kilohearts trance gate (or Ableton shaper) for this purpose! It does the job well.

Kilohearts...

I had the camelfx before and after they got into Logic, I used that all the time before. Kilohearts replaced it.
Alex Hilton one is okay, used it quite bit years ago, but I found the camelspace better and less laggy GUI wise, but ultimately it is a mulit-fx (camelspace) The kilohearts is just a trancegate nothing more, nothing less. Exactly what I want when I want a trancegate.

The vengeance one looks cool too, but I am very satisfied with the Kilohearts one, and it is free. Does what I want, only thing missing is a gain slider, coz the total volume will drop a bit when using it.

HY Plugins and some site or magazine made one you can find free somewhere. Or was it hornet? Hmm.
