Since trying Beta 5 I am getting Audio Engine Dropouts and it appears worse with 5.8. Latest Windows 11. It nearly always happens when loading a Native Instruments plugin or manipulating one. Its getting to the pitch where I either go back to 4.4.10 or switch Daw's. Anyone else getting Dropouts and any ideas how to resolve it? Its clearly not a shortage of RAM or due to audio playback as this happens when its not playing. Just now I loaded Kontakt and up came the dreaded windows Audio Engine Dropout. No problem temporarily resolving it just save , close and reopen and the problem has gone till the next time. My problem is that there are far to many next times. Help or ideas appreciated as support say that nothing has changed between 4.4.10 and 5 to cause this problem. Help appreciated.

Send those screen dumps to Bitwig support.
Bitwig, against the constitution.

Yes I already did that and was told that no changes have been made to the 5 Beta from 4.4.10 that could cause that. I took that as meaning this is not a Bitwig issue however I have noted that I am not the only one having this problem. I have just uninstalled all past versions of Bitwig apart from 5.8 to see if there was some conflict there. Fingers crossed and will let you know if and when I get another dropout.

In general, in a case like yours, I try to simplify a project to isolate what is causing the issue.

Then duplicate the project in 4.4 and see if it is the same issue

If Bitwig is incorrect then you need more information to convince them. If not, it may be an NI issue

Yes I agree and thanks for that. Doesn't look like anyone else on here is having the same problem so could well be something particular to my set up.

My bad, you wrote about it like it's supposed to work like an official release. You even said you might have to switch DAW's over it so I thought, understandably imo, you didn't know what a beta was.

No problem, I get the feeling its NI Kontakt 5 that is the culprit. Switching DAW's was me having a bad moment as its the last thing I will do LOL.

Loaded NI Komplete Kontrol into 5.8 and got an immediate Audio Dropout. Didn't bother to save just shut down and installed 5.9 and on first run it did exactly the same. NI currently have a 50% discount on upgrades for Komplete Ultimate so I may jump from 12 to 14 and hope that the latest versions of Kontakt etc solve the problem as apart from that I am not sure what I can do. In the meantime I will try an uninstall and reinstall of what appear to be the offending NI Plugins. Onwards and upwards.

Beta #9 - on of the fixes is:

* CPU performance of Bitwig Studio should be improved (a regression from v4.4)

I am still getting audio engine dropouts and not only when using NI Komplete etc but now also Bitwig plugins. When a dropout happens the only option is to save, close down and reopen Bitwig. End result I have gone back to using 4.4.10 which does not give me the problem. I have once again contacted support and sent the last Event Log before switching back to 4.4.10. When they get back I will post the reply. Have a good weekend :tu:
