I passed on Myth because I don't really need/want another complex synth, but if Zyklop is available for an attractive enough price and has the *V1.5 resynthesis from Myth, I'm way more likely to buy it and that's money Dawesome wouldn't otherwise be getting from me, for comparatively little work at their end. I'd say that's a good thing.

I just checked the Dawesome Discord and Zyklop is actually going to be free! Just waiting for someone to confirm that it will have the new and improved resynth engine from the 1.5 Myth update.Caine123 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 6:42 amgot you! always try to get the full menu instead of some bits . but yeah sure if you know what you want it is a great deal!PieBerger wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 6:10 amI passed on Myth because I don't really need/want another complex synth, but if Zyklop is available for an attractive enough price and has the *V1.5 resynthesis from Myth, I'm way more likely to buy it and that's money Dawesome wouldn't otherwise be getting from me, for comparatively little work at their end. Edit: Peter Dawesome confirmed that it will have the updated engine and that Zyklop presets can be loaded into Myth, should users decide to upgrade to premium, as it were.

What a fantastic gift for the community and a smart way to allow people to get a taste of MYTH before making the investment.
Peter has consistently shared his passion and enthusiasm for Dawesome Music plug-ins through clear communication, and respect for his user base. That’s how it should be done. Nice one!!

Agreed! Peter’s approach shows he’s not only about pushing out products but also about building a community of creatives who genuinely connect with the tools. Very inspiring, congratulations and thanks a lot for the gift!

Zyklop looks amazing, the fact it's free even more so
You could easily load up 3-4 instances inside of something like Voltage Modular and make and instrument with 3-4 irises all based on Resynthesis
That will be cool

Quick question: does Sumu support drag-and-drop for samples from an external browser? I've tried a few times without success. Could this be a limitation of the demo?kraster wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2024 5:31 pmI kind of know what you mean but I think Myth has enough processors to twist the sound inside out and overcome that specific sonic character.
The one resynthesis synth that doesn’t have that sound is Sumu by Madrona labs, imho.
I feel with the Halions and myths you are still working at a higher level. With Sumu it feels like you’re working at an atomic level.
Every partial can be pulled apart and flung around.
With Myth or Halion I find that it’s closer to using samples so I find myself swapping out samples more frequently.
With Sumu I can spend hours with just one sample and get all kinds of hugely diverse results
It’s a beautifully weird synth. Or is that weirdly beautiful…?

No. You need to use a companion app called Vutu to turn the samples into a format that Sumu can understand.enCiphered wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 4:33 pmQuick question: does Sumu support drag-and-drop for samples from an external browser? Vitu is available on the Madrona Labs website.

Oh wow, what a workflow killer! I installed Vutu, but even there, I can't drag and drop any sample into the analyzer. Instead, I have to click on 'Import,' search for a file, analyze it, and then export it to a .utu format. Then in Sumu, I have to click import again, navigate to the folder where the file is located... Bummer!!

Hard to tell. I rarely look at cpu usage but I think for the same preset it should be the same because it utilizes the same modules, using one Iris - and this is what I see when playing the same preset in both Zyklop and Myth.
Zyklop is basically a small Myth. The only difference you can feel regarding cpu is with a bigger, more complicated presets that you can open only in Myth. The "benefit" of Zyklop is that it limits you in options, so don't go crazy with everything - hence lower cpu
