I told myself a while back (maybe after getting MI's Beads), that I wouldn't buy any more modules which use those tiny trim pots without knobs. That has kept GAS in check for the most part.

I gave this a serious once over (pre-video) when I received the pre-order offer, and upon studying the manual, decided that although it has some spiffy tricks, without hearing it, it appears rather limited for the price point {IMHO}, at least according to the functions as described in the manual. If I didn't have the two Phonogenes I have, I might consider it however, as it's quite a bit like one of them on steroids, though much more immediate, and flexible from what I saw. Still cool, but not something I can't already replicate fairly easily with what I have. {Phonogene/Echophon(x2 each)+'Data Bender', etc., etc., etc.}vurt wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 9:50 am https://youtu.be/65SgEHab9sI?si=ZjOHF1K2baJqEQdN

Me too though I wish they had added a few things that would make a big difference for not much effort like a custom quantiser mode.
Maybe there’s scope for things like that with future firmware updates.
With a following wind may get mine by this time next week.

Down to the last few openings on the euro rack so I'm going to have to make some hard decisions.
The biggest is the top right where I thought I would have my Spectravox. Now I think it would be better under the mike on its own so I could put a different Moog 60hp 'mother' in its place. Either the DFAM or a Labyrinth.

And you don’t want to keep Spectravox as a desktop? I would see in the rack as a gas deterrent due to space restrictions.Constructed Identity wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 10:35 am Down to the last few openings on the euro rack so I'm going to have to make some hard decisions.

Otherwise, I don’t know that I’d keep it in the rack unless I had a setup like Deadmau5. That’s monster trio of racks looks amazing.

I'm definitely keeping the Spectravox as a desktop! It seems simple, but it's deep. A few people in videos I watched have a DFAM in the rack specifically for drums but I sort of want the Labyrinth as a sequencing voice. Or perhaps I should just forget Moog and have other modules like Xaotic's new VCA...elxsound wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 12:35 pmAnd you don’t want to keep Spectravox as a desktop? I must admit I'm a bit ho-hum about Behringer 2.0 releases. Only bought a K2 a few months before they released the K2 mk2. Now I only got it because it was cheap (likely because they knew mk2 was due), so I didn't outlay much, but kinda regretted buying it and seriously mulling over getting a mk2 for the FM and PWM. Which then makes the mk1 redundant. I'll give them credit that it tends to be several years before they release mk2s though. And they are definitely getting better at firmware upgrades - there's been some serious and quick firmware upgrade recently for new products. I think there's a reasonable chance that something like Spice might get useful upgrades...WatchTheGuitar wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 3:22 pmMe too though I wish they had added a few things that would make a big difference for not much effort like a custom quantiser mode.
