Hello friends, I hope you had a good start into the new year!
First iteration of an EDM song I started yesterday. Just long enough to make sense to post and you can hear a bit where the song could go....
(Serum, Repro-1, Kontakt Alicia Keys, Dune3, Ana2... )
What do you think?

Our Endless Ride hasn't ended and you are starting something new?
The music on this one sounds very good. The vocals sound artificial when she hits the loud, high notes but otherwise are pretty good.

Hehe, thanks Frederick!
Yes, I often work on several songs. "Endless Ride" still needs a bit of work.
Yeah exactly, that's the first idea that still has some weird parts. I'm already on the next iteration with better lyrics and some more finetuning. But you seem to agree that the basic idea has potential (so nothing for the trash)

Next iteration with different lyrics, a little pre-chorus and other fixes... still quite short but this is just the beginning

The vocals sound more natural in V2. Personally I would like less reverb/delay on them but it is a matter of taste.
Maybe that lead synth might sound better one octave higher?

That's right, the lower frequency range is already quite well filled, sounds even more balanced when the synth plays an octave higher.
Thanks Frederick for your really helpful ideas!
A few minor changes

A few minor changes... Doubling of vocals, some new elements, some tuning. The next step is to compose more elements (bridge, verse, intro, outro etc).
Currently used: Alicia Keys, Strummed Acoustic, Chromaphone 3, Serum, Repro-1, Groove Agent, Dune3, Ana 2, Absynth

I listened to the different versions. It's interesting to hear your additions. v4 sounds quite a bit more fleshed out. The tune is pleasant and has a kind of mysterious vibe. The reverb is a bit too washy and present for my taste, but that's a personal preference thing.

I listened to V4. The music sounds great.
The vocals are good although sometimes it's hard to hear the words. Keeping them low in the mix my help hide their synthetic nature.
Keep going!

That's right... I compared Guetta, Above & Beyond (which is kind of the standard for me) and there really is significantly less reverb. The opposite of chillout (which is what I normally do)...
I cleaned it up a bit, ditched VintageVerb (sounds too modulated somehow) and used Relab's LX480 instead. The strum guitar, which you can only hear slightly in the background anyway, no longer has any reverb. Everything else is now send effects and that sounds different. I think it's better this way with the reverb.
Thanks for your input and have a nice Sunday!
Oh yeah... and here's the V5 with less reverb
