Stupid decision , especially when the demo is around the corner .
One of the main benefits of a forum is bug reports and confirmation of the bug by multiple users .
Now everything has to go through their official helpdesk support which is a joke , no other users to confirm the bug and if their helpdesk can't replicate it they close the ticket .
Idiots running the game .

LOl , facebook is now their official channel ..big f .lol , the ship is sinking folks

Or let's be honest: the same 10 people (plus moderators) have always been hanging around the forum. It was comparatively quiet and only rarely was there a lively discussion. The most interesting were the occasional real bug reports (not the PEBKAC). But apart from that: maybe I'm just old. Propellerheads/Reason Studios gave up their forum years ago. And maybe other manufacturers will follow...

Yeah , but if you take your business seriously you need a forum.
Resorting to a social media platform like FB that literally exists becasue of it's advertising really shows they don't give a damn about the user .

Being devil‘s advocate: They still have! For paying customers with a subscription.

So they've gone from adding features just for Pro+ users to now taking things away from Perpetual users to aggressively push you into the Subscription model.

Yeah it's just a forum this time, but what's next?

I've left the S1 train 6 months ago and went back to Cubase and Reaper. Never regretted it, but my problems were other things. Looking at the sub thingie as well as stability issues now, I'm glad I left.

They changed it, that's even worse

I get it might not be a busy forum but it's a place where people can post issues and get help from others and also for people to find issues and potential fixes that have come to users become they encounter them themselves, a terrible move especially made worse if they choose not to archive the forum and get rid of it entirely

And the "if you sub you can still use the community" is a nice f**k you to the perpetual folk, like their money isn't good enough

Well, for one, it's more cross platform compatible than many other DAWs--they support Windows, MacOS, and Linux. :)

Do you seriously think that a guy who mixes rock bands for a living couldn't mix an EDM track just as well? Or vice versa? The principles don't change and the tools don't have to, either.

I used to be a Presonus Forum Mod years ago. It was a real community. Many active, knowlegable and helpful members but also a direct ear to support who would often jump in and help so that users weren't forced to open a support ticket. It's been steadily declining. The few mods left are condescending and typically their "help" consists of telling users to open a support ticket.

So really, closing the forum isn't that great a loss at this point. The bigger picture is more bleak.
Presonus is NOT Presonus anymore. It's been sucked up by Servco Pacific the same hedge fund bean counters that own Fender. Like other conglomerates that have bought up other music manufacturers, they don't give a rat's behind about their customers. They view us much like they view their other PRODUCTS. Something to squeeze every last dime out of before they let it whither and die. Then they sell off what's left and pocket what they can.

i mean yes its being squeezed by the hedge fund that owns them but how much money can they really be saving by closing a forum? is it that expensive for a big company? any of you with your own artist website may know. im oblivious

It probably has less to do with saving money and more to do with aligning with some executive's corporate vision.
