Yup, that's what I did and couldn't be happier to go back to Logic Pro 11.1 as my primary DAW. I also use Nuendo 13 while waiting for N14 to drop. Between those two DAWs I'm pretty much set with all I need.

They didn't just shut it down, they deleted the entire forum and all the information in it. When Cakewalk went bankrupt, using forum software that was much older than Presonus, they just archived it. You can still read that forum and posts that are 20 years old.

Deleting the forum crossed a red line for me. If I can't make sense of what they're doing, why would I trust my future to their software?

If there would have been official announcement and reason well before the closing the forum (and not deleting the old posts), the thing would be different I think. It wouldn’t feel so sneaky and strange. What I understand is, all the info we now have why the forum was closed is from “I heard someone heard that someone said”… no official announcement beforehand?

They don't care, they are doing everything for money. They are a big company that has no obligation to be honorable to customers- you either deal with it or not (you can voice your opinion in hopes which may be a far cry).

Same thing happened to Magic: The Gathering who was bought by Hasbro- if anyone is familiar with that game. They totally obliterated the trust -- while simultaneously pumping out watered down product -- of the secondary market by reprinting cards they said they would never; and technically they didn't, but did, which was a stretching of their policy... Big companies will sacrifice old users for new ones as a viable strategy.

This is weird. I don't have any real interest in the DAW, but I logged in to "My Presonus" (I have bought two audio interfaces from them, using one currently, Quantum ES2. Top notch.) and the site says Studio One Pro 7 "Included with your Studio One Pro+ Membership". I'm reasonably certain I'm not paying them any subscription fee. I did sign up for a free DAW, yes I did.
(It was a PITA to install with tons of bundled crap eating space like a motha like Cubase used to do, although in this case it's optional before you install, a lot of things to say no to.)
