“Internal Angle” started as an experiment with recording “heavy” sounding electric guitar with various amp, tape, and eq plugins. I recorded the drums, bass, and violin afterwards. Any influence by King Crimson is pure coincidental

jcub,
The violin (sounds very real if it isn't) starts out very nicely. Stick or regular electric bass? I listened to this 3 times, and at times the violin sounds somewhat discordant relative to the guitar; not sure why. If you are playing real violin (a fretless instrument), it's not easy being spot-on pitch wise; I would try pitch correction if it's a real violin. If the violin is a MIDI instrument, maybe not always in the same key as the guitar? Or maybe I am completely wrong. Otherwise, sounds good. Very good audio quality.

Thanks for the listen and comments! It is Audio Modeling’s Violin 3 (a MIDI instrument). The discordance is intentional for the style, but I will go back and listen for the biggest offenders. I used MODO Bass 2 for this track. Sometimes I play an NS Stick and MODO Bass track and pick the one that seems to work best sound-wise.

Sounds great to me! Reminds me a bit of the Mahavishnu Orchestra.
The violin discordance sounds apropriate to me and quite expressive. Are the bass and drums real instruments or virtual? Whichever, they sounded great too.

Thank you! I am a big Mahavishnu/McLaughlin Fan. The bass is the “metal bass” model in IK Multimedia’s MODO Bass 2 played on Roger Linn’s LinnStrument MIDI controller. The drums are from the Area 33 SDX in Superior Drummer 3 played in real time on a Zendrum MIDI controller.

Thanks for the info! Again, great stuff!
I remember listening to McLauglin with a fellow guitarist in the early 70s. He was very skilled, but McLauglin completely blew his mind!

Thanks! I have seen McLaughline three times - the last was on the 50th anniversary Shakti tour. He is incredible!
