This piece evolved from testing out a new drum library (Matt Garstka Signature Drums from GGD) and then adding bass Harpejji, piano, and trumpet.

Bread and Circuses: It turned out to be a fantastic song: very jazzy and experimentally
beautiful. (We, on the other hand, tend to do very mainstream rock stuff.) So it's all the
more refreshing and diverse for me to hear a jazz song like this.
The drums are okay. However, this song shines with its bass playing, piano, and very
free trumpet. In the middle section you're obviously trying out the new drums. There is
also a hint of an ending in the middle part - haha, but the real ending comes at the
very end - and is very short in comparison.
In total: Really well done!

Another fantastic piece. Makes me think/feel like i am back in NCY ( with Rael) in some small place with great music. I know it's fairly common but the bass riff was driving me crazy (a short ride) when i remembered it from a song by Gong. More great suff from jcub.

Thanks enroe and CrystalWizard! It is fun to experiment. Different influences also come through - I have been listening to the new Genesis Lamb Lies Down mix and have spent many hours listening to Gong.

jcub,
Nice bass Harpejji (I need to google that; forget what that is)! Quite jazzy, yet accessible. All of the instruments sound very real, including the trumpet. Very nice piano. Would be very good in a movie. Very cool! Perhaps you can check out my latest thread, which I will start tonight.

This sounds fantastic! Lots of interesting twists and turns. I love the filtered/wah bass sound. Great stuff!

Great stuff! Like an experimental jazz jam late at the end of the night when everyone is really stretching out and experimenting. The Harpejji sounds awesome, as do all the instruments.
Thanks!
