Anyone knows what's happening with MacProVideo, AskVideo and AskAudio? They used to release new courses every week, but it's been over two years since the last one. Any word on why they've gone quiet? Nothing on the new version of Logic, Cubase, Ableton. On top of that they're completely ignoring my support requests which is super frustrating.

That's seriously troublesome news. I always liked their approach to tutorials.

Google says it ‘appears’ to still be active. I logged into my acc’t for the 1st time in about 10 years last summer without issue. Can’r download tuts anymore, iirc.

Hell, The best one's were the older AskVideo DVDs that had young females doing intros to chapters... They even included bloopers of these as well... Some were a play on words & others same but more suggestive (like the Ableton Live 5 video)... As if learning Live 5 would impact your sex life...

Yeah, the website is still online, but they've completely stopped putting out new courses. Nothing in two years. Downloading purchased courses for offline view is broken, and they ignore all my messages. They also introduced a "lifetime" pass, which feels like a red flag. It really seems like they're just trying to squeeze out as much cash as possible before shutting everything down for good.

It’s still active and I can log in and access everything, so no it’s not dead so I suggest updating the thread title to something more accurate and less clickbaity

The site loads but it hasn’t been updated in years, no courses, no new articles, the forums were removed. Customer support is nonexistent: they no longer reply to tickets or emails. The NLE player no longer works properly, all their iOS apps have been pulled from the App Store, and my account was blocked without explanation or response. Macprovideo, Askvideo, and Askaudio have all turned into total ghost towns.

I got some warning signals when I got a mail about that lifetime pass, when was it... a year ago? A two year absence is not a good sign for the future. I wonder what happened.

No, and they used to have a downloadable media player so you could download their proprietary files. Seems gone.
I bought a pile of videos there when I was first learning Logic. There was one little trick I wanted when I was recording in August, so I logged in.
I would speculate that they either overextended themselves, or competition from YT teachers hurt them.
AFAIK, Groove3 is still going strong.

Going strong in terms of output maybe, but the quality of their videos has really gone downhill IMO. I haven’t seen anything interesting from them in the last few years and every announcement email for new tutorials has been overwhelmingly Hal Leonard and “songbook” crap. Their iPad app is pretty terrible TBH and every time it I try to use it, I’m shocked that usability and navigability hasn’t been improved in years. After many years of being an annual subscriber, I’ve set it to not auto-renew when it ends this month.

I agree.I tried a year pass, and wasn‘t impressed. A lot of outdated Logic stuff, and the Hal Leonard stuff didn‘t do anything for me.
Best way to learn Logic, imo, is David Nahmani‘s book.
