If you're up for trying a few more, trying a Google on "fix dbx file" turns up a *lot* of hits.

Also, I would suggest that you scan your file system for bad sectors, broken links, etc. If you're on Win XP, go to My Computer, right-click on the drive that contains the bad file, select Properties. In the Properties dialog, select the Tools tab, then select the Error-Checking button ("Check Now..."). Make sure you check the "automatically fix" and "scan for bad sectors" opotions, then say OK. You'll have to reboot to get the scan to happen (it'll happen before the Windows GUI comes up again).

The DBX file might actually be corrupted, and this is one way to try to fix it.
