Imperfect Samples releases Braunschweig Upright Piano Library for EXS24 and Kontakt

23rd October 2008

Imperfect Samples has announced the release of the Braunschweig Upright Piano, a 24-bit multi-sampled imperfect upright piano instrument for Kontakt and EXS24. Being the first instrument created by Imperfect Samples, the emphasis for this multi-sampled piano library has been placed on creating an imperfect and realistic performance instrument. The sounds of the fingers tapping the ivory keys, the pedal, subtle mechanical sounds and occasional seat noise have been recorded in order to preserve a human performance. This is what is referred to as "imperfect".

The Braunschweig Upright Piano has a distinctive sound character that's more intimate than a grand piano, making it desirable for certain situations where the polished and precise sound of a nine-foot grand in a concert hall is not wanted.

An original Schimmel Braunschweig upright piano was recorded to create this instrument. Every note of the piano has been sampled in multiple velocity layers, with release samples, performance sounds and true staccato. The Schimmel Braunschweig Upright Piano was recorded at 24-bit, totaling over 3GB of data. A light 16-bit version is also available.

Instruments included in the sample library:

Braunschweig Upright Piano Library for EXS24 and Kontakt costs £39.99.
