Digital Sound Factory releases Studio Orchestra [EMU|SFZ|SF2]

24th July 2009

Digital Sound Factory has announced the release of Studio Orchestra, a new sample library that offers a comprehensive collection of over two gigabytes of "the finest strings, brass, woodwinds, and percussion samples, all meticulously recorded for the right expressiveness in each note to convey a truly realistic feel".

The DSF Studio Orchestra has been programmed to deliver the most natural sounding instruments possible, according to DSF. Unusually, this orchestral library also includes synthesizer waveforms for blending with the realism of the acoustics. DSF also included a vocal ensemble, Mellotron, and concert grand piano.

Various size sections and styles were recorded with eight microphones through high quality 24/96 analog-to-digital converters to capture the true realism of the instruments and the natural ambience of the hall. The collection includes Sections of 15, 5, & Solo Violin, 10, 5, & Solo Viola, 10, 5, & Solo Cello, 8, 4, & Solo Bass, Woodwinds, Brass, Orchestral Percussion, Synthesizer Waveforms, Mellotron, Vocal Ensemble, and Grand Piano.
