Sonic Reality announces imminent release of EpiK DrumS - A Ken Scott Collection

14th January 2010

Sonic Reality has announced the imminent release of EpiK DrumS – A Ken Scott Collection. This Infinite Player virtual instrument powered by Kontakt Player 4 has over 130 gigabytes of multi-track kits and grooves recorded and mixed by Ken Scott (whose credits included the Beatles, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Elton John and more) and performed by legendary drummers Bill Cobham (Mahavishnu Orchestra), Terry Bozzio (Missing Persons), Woody Woodmansey (Bowie's Spiders from Mars), Bob Siebenberg (Supertramp) and Rod Morgenstein (Dixie Dregs). The HD edition comes with sounds pre-installed on the new Infinite hard drive.

In EpiK DrumS, Ken recreated an authentic emulation of the drum sounds of multi-track studio sessions he recorded "back in the day" with David Bowie, Supertramp, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Dixie Dregs, Missing Persons, Elton John and The Beatles. These timeless classic drums were achieved by using the same rare recording equipment (Trident A Range, rare tube and ribbon microphones…), the same style vintage drum kits with expert technical assistance from Ross Garfield "The Drum Doctor", advanced drum kit and groove editing/programming by Sonic Reality and collaboration with the original drummers from those albums. All together, this new virtual instrument combined with amazing drum sounds and styles makes up one of the most EPIK productions ever for a software drum instrument.

Acclaimed producer/engineer – Ken Scott says, "I am so proud of this package because of all it encompasses. It will allow today's recording artists, be they musician, producer or engineer, to use the sounds that are all too familiar to classic rock for their modern performances. Because all microphones have been kept separate, it is a wonderful tool for learning how to mix REAL drums without wasting valuable studio time. And last but certainly not least, it brings the original grooves of such wonderfully diverse players all into one incredible package."

"It is an honor to be working with Ken Scott and reuniting him with five of the original legendary drummers from classic albums Ken has recorded." Says Dave Kerzner, CEO of Sonic Reality. "EpiK DrumS is like a virtual reality 'classic rock fantasy' to think that any musician can now play along with such authentic vintage sounds from the source."

As a special introductory offer from now until February 15th, 2010, all purchases of EpiK DrumS-A Ken Scott Collection-will include the pre-installed HD Edition for free as well as an EpiK DrumS postcard personally signed by Ken Scott.
