PlugInGuru.com updates MegaMacho Drums to 1.5 - Adds MIDI Groove Player and 250 more grooves

20th December 2013

PlugInGuru.com has updated MegaMacho Drums. Version 1.5 adds a built-in MIDI Groove player and over 200 new MIDI Grooves which brings the total to 550+ modern dance MIDI Grooves.

The library is based on 2,000 custom samples of cutting edge modern dance styles arranged into a bunch of compatible kits that follow strict drum mapping layout (Skippy first designed this layout when he built the drum kits 15+ years ago for the Korg Triton). With 7 kicks and 8 snares plus the basics of a General MIDI style drum map, the MIDI Grooves from any musical style can now be played on kits of totally different genres. With the user interface modifying either the entire 61-sample kit or just 1 sample from that kit with 2 filters, 9 effects, delay and 2 convolution reverb, a user can do some serious damage to the drum kits.

With version 1.5, there is now a sophisticated MIDI Groove player built into the interface on its own separate page. A user can now hit the "Auto" button and their sequencer will start and stop the selected MIDI file. There are Velocity, Low Note Range and High Note Range parameters that can be automated so that a user can control dynamics and limit exactly what notes in the MIDI file are currently being allowed to play. It is designed so that a user could have have 1 MIDI file being used for an entire song and never sounding exactly the same because of these 3 parameters. There are also 1/2, Normal and 2X buttons which will alter the playback ratio of the MIDI file. There is also a "Drag to Host" button which will allow a user to drag the MIDI file to their host sequencer - and velocity and the 1/2, Normal and 2X timing values are placed in the MIDI file that is generated.

It is designed to be easy for the user to replace the samples in this kit with their own samples - and keep the per sample editing power in place. It's also designed to be easy for the user to create, save and then use their own MIDI files to playback any of the drum kits.

Price: $149.00. To celebrate this release, MegaMacho Drums is on sale for $119.00 until January 5th, 2014.
