Muse Research unveils v1.2 Software for Receptor

20th January 2005

Muse Research today announced the Version 1.2 software upgrade for Receptor. This software update adds significant new features, including ADAT output support that increases the number of outputs to a total of ten. Also new in version 1.2 is Z-Load™ (patent-pending), which dramatically reduces the amount of time required to load a plug-in, as well as new MIDI mapping features with full support for keyboard zones and layers, improving Receptor's functionality as a synth, sampler, and sound module. Version 1.2 software for Receptor is slated to ship in the first quarter of this year.

ADAT output support increases the number of outputs on Receptor

Receptor was designed as a sound and effects module for both stage and studio work. It's here, in the studio, where it is often desirable to route individual Receptor channels back into a DAW or mixer. For this reason, Receptor has a built-in ADAT optical interface allowing 8 individual digital outputs in addition to the 2 S/PDIF outputs and 2 analog outputs. Version 1.2 software updates the mixer UI to support these additional outputs, and provides the user with complete routing control over the ADAT outputs as well as the S/PDIF output.

New MIDI mapping features enhance the sound module capabilities of Receptor

Version 1.2 software includes new MIDI mapping features, designed with the input of keyboardist and Receptor endorser Jordan Rudess. These MIDI mapping features allow the performer to easily set up multiple layers and splits in Receptor, making it an ideal tool for live performance regardless of music style.

Patent-applied-for "Z-Load" technology speeds plug-in loading

Muse Research is demonstrating a new technology in Receptor that makes it possible to load plug-ins in just milliseconds, versus the several seconds or sometimes tens of seconds required by a computer.
