Polarity releases Tubester-2

Polarity has released Tubester-2, a free, high-quality VST audio processing plugin for the simulation of a classic high-gain American tube combo.

Tubester-2 is a combined preamp, EQ and guitar speaker simulator. The sophisticated amp model is a 4-stage, 4-valve preamp with input and feedback filtering. Preamp tubes are modeled from actual RCA 12AX7 triode data sheets.

An 'extreme' setting switches in a 4th preamp section for ultra-high gain lead guitar sounds. An EQ section gives fine control over bass, mid and treble bands with a presence control additional control over tonal purity.

Tubester-2 is a zero-latency, highly efficient implementation with minimal CPU overhead, and is thus suitable for real-time, live use.

This free version of Tubester-2 emphasizes tonal quality and reliability and simplicity.
