Toontrack releases Progressive Foundry SDX and Progressive EZX sound libraries

3rd November 2015

Toontrack has released the Progressive Foundry SDX and Progressive EZX, two new drum library expansions for Superior Drummer 2 and EZdrummer 2. Both products come from a session at the Sing Sing Recording Studios in Melbourne produced by engineer Forrester Savell. This marks the first two product launches of the company's annual Metal Month campaign and also a first ever simultaneous release of an EZX and SDX.

"We are extremely excited to not only bring drum sounds by one of the most up-and-coming producers in heavy rock today, but for the first time ever offer both Superior Drummer 2 and EZdrummer 2 users new custom content on the same day. This is something our customers have asked for and we're thrilled to be able offer them two of the most massive expansions we have ever released", said Toontrack's CEO Peter Knutsson.

The Progressive Foundry SDX ($179) includes five complete kits, a total of 17 snare drums, 31 cymbals and five hi-hats – all captured on 26 separate channels and spanning 63 gigabytes of raw, unprocessed sounds. The Progressive Foundry SDX is designed to continue the tradition of The Metal Foundry SDX already in the Superior Drummer Line. It was recorded at the Sing Sing Recording Studios in Melbourne, Australia, by engineer/producer Forrester Savell. With credits on albums by Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus and I Am Giant. During its more than 35 years in business, the Sing Sing studio has collected a selection of top tier microphones and rare outboard gear. Combined with the dense wood-lined walls in its balanced A-room, Sing Sing is thought by some to be a perfect environment for broad, transparent drum recording. The drums, which were sampled by Karnivool's own Steve Judd, were scoured from all four corners of Australia and present a collection of rare, vintage and modern.
