KVR Developer Challenge 2016 - The Winner Is... Youlean Loudness Meter

Voting in the KVR Developer Challenge 2016 has closed! The 41 entries will, of course, remain available, for free, for everyone at kvraudio.com/kvr-developer-challenge/2016

Thanks to everyone who entered, everyone who has donated, so far, and everyone who has voted. There was a great assortment of entries, but the top three were all effect plug-ins, two of them delays! So, what were they... read on:

1st: Youlean Loudness Meter by Youlean

In first place, and a clear winner by almost 100 votes, was Youlean Loudness Meter, by Youlean, a loudness measurement plug-in for Mac OS X and Windows in VST2, VST3 and AU plug-in formats.

As both a Mac and Windows entry, Youlean Loudness Meter wins 60% of the prize fund plus, of course, the trip to The 2017 NAMM Show, courtesy of the good folks at NAMM. The top three entries all get a one-year license for JUCE too.

2nd: Lagrange by Ursa DSP

Second was Lagrange by Ursa DSP, a stereo delay VST2 and VST3 plug-in for Windows (a Mac version coming soon, apparently).

Lagrange wins 20% of the prize fund as the runner up plus a one-year license for JUCE.

3rd: Spaceship Delay from Musical Entropy

Finishing the top three we have Spaceship Delay from Musical Entropy, a delay audio effect plug-in for Mac OS X and Windows in VST2, AU and AAX plug-in formats.

Sadly the third place entry doesn't win a cash prize this year, but they do get a hearty congratulations for coming third. They do get a one-year license for JUCE though.

UPDATE: Musical Entropy has been awarded the wildcard 10%! Congratulations.

Soundware: Refractor by Noizefield Instruments

The highest placed Soundware entry was Refractor by Noizefield Instruments, a synthesizer for Native Instruments Reaktor based on Karplus Strong synthesis.

As the top soundware entry they get 10% of the prize fund.

The remaining 10% of the prize fund traditionally goes to a wildcard entry - we'll announce that after Christmas, possibly in the New Year when we've had a good think about it... if you have any thoughts on where our decision should go, please tell us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram (or the KVR Forum of course). We'll also start to sort any extra prizes out in the next week or two.

Donations will remain open until the end of the year, then we'll distribute the prize fund to the winners.

Thanks again to everyone who has taken part in the KVR Developer Challenge in whatever way. It was pretty short notice this time and yet we still got 41 fantastic entries covering a wide range of musical applications. We'll try to do it earlier next year!
