Native Instruments updates Komplete Kontrol to v3.0 and announces end of life for MK1 keyboards

Native Instruments has update their Komplete Kontrol software to version 3.0.0, which includes support for their new Komplete Kontrol MK3 range of controller keyboards.

The minimum OS requirements are now:

• MacOS 12, 13.
• Windows 10 (latest Service Pack), Windows 11.

The update includes:

• ADDED Support for NKS 2.
• ADDED Support for Kontrol S MK3 controller keyboard.
• ADDED Support for HiDPI mode(s).
• ADDED Support for host plug-in resizing.
• ADDED New Visual Browser.
• ADDED Support for VST3ParameterInfo, which is displayed on the Kontrol S MK3 keyboard.
• ADDED Ability for the Play Assist ARP to respond to channel pressure.
• FIXED Crash when scanning Waves plug-ins.
• FIXED Crash on shutdown if plug-in could not be loaded.
• FIXED Crash when loading Ozone 10.
• FIXED Crash and UI glitch when loading Sampler or Audio windows, closing and reopening.
• FIXED Aftertouch data being filtered out when Play Assist ARP is enabled.
• FIXED First note in Logic does not play correctly.
• FIXED Kontrol S MK2 screens could become non functional after switching on/off.
• FIXED Broken scrolling in Sampler or Audio module.
• FIXED Adjusting parameters interfered with mouse cursor.
• FIXED Crash when duplicating Komplete Kontrol tracks in Logic Pro.
• FIXED Issue where Logic Pro would open projects with empty instances of Komplete Kontrol.

Native Instruments has also announced that, starting with the upcoming release of Komplete Kontrol 3.0, future NI software releases will no longer be compatible with the MK1. MK1 users should not attempt an update to version 3.0 as both versions can't live side by side on your system.

You will still be able to use a MK1 keyboard with Komplete Kontrol 2.9 (or lower), which includes Apple Silicon and VST3 support. However, NI will no longer maintain older versions of Komplete Kontrol and cannot guarantee they will be supported by future versions of your computer's operating system.
