sonible has released smart:EQ 4, the latest update to their intelligent equalizer, enhancing its spectral mixing and multi-track unmasking capabilities.

This latest version of smart:EQ, a key component in Sonible's suite of AI-assistive audio tools, offers several new features:

• Advanced smart:filter technology for spectral balance across single tracks, busses, or entire mixes, and intelligent cross-channel processing.
• Simplified spectral mixing with a Group view, allowing up to ten tracks to be arranged in an unmasking hierarchy.
• Remote control functionality to adjust multiple tracks within the same group.
• A variety of profiles tailored for instruments, speech, and mixes categorized by genre, along with the ability to create custom profiles from reference tracks.
• Enhanced dynamic controls for regular filters, including Threshold, Ratio, Attack, and Release.
• Options for processing modes in the smart:filter, including Track, Group, and Track & Group.
• Features like Auto Gain, comprehensive M/S processing, smart states, and a customizable learning time for the smart:filter.

smart:EQ 4 allows hierarchical control over multitrack unmasking, facilitating control from any instance within a group. The plugin's AI-powered profiles now feature genre-based Mix Profiles and the ability to import reference tracks for targeted spectral shaping. The core smart:filter in each EQ instance is augmented with a 'Smoothing' parameter, and standard EQ bands can function as Dynamic EQ with compressor-style controls. An added Auto Gain function also compensates for level adjustments.

Unlike usual EQs that leave the context of a mix out of any processing, smart:EQ 4 pushes even more towards a holistic approach. We have created an equalizer that allows us to work top-down with the bigger picture in mind and sports features that have been inspired by feedback and user workflows.
