WireGrind has released TapSkip, a new VST plug-in that enhances musical rhythms.
TapSkip essentially multiplies the input audio's rhythm with its own internally generated patterns. The resulting output contains more notes and also new more-complex rhythms.
Users may notice a few familiar control parameters. For example, predelay and delay. These work as they do on other effects. However, there are other parameters that are either unique or that have a unique significance. These are discussed more below.
Taps and Skips
The "Taps" parameter sets the number of delay taps, while the "Skips" parameter sets the number of skips. A skip is like a delay tap, but it's skipped over and never heard. The taps and skips are mixed together in a sequence, and they interact with each other to form rhythmic patterns.
The Shuffle Buttons
There are two shuffle buttons, "Shuffle Timings," and "Shuffle Levels." The "Shuffle Timings" button rearranges the tap-skip sequence, while the "Shuffle Levels" button randomizes the order of the tap levels. Together, these controls make a wide range of rhythmic patterns available to users, and they have a large impact on the sound texture.

TapSkip is available on sale for $24/€23 after an initial opening at $45/€43.
